Curriculum for Wales
Ambitious and Capable
In our learning we discussed how we can be more Ambitious and Capable learners. We need high standards so good learning takes place. We like to be an eager beaver or a brave, brave mouse. We try to be independent learners. We try to be able learners. We use our partners to discuss our challenges and solve some problems. We have become good listeners and we know our mistakes help us learn. We use Welsh everyday in every learning opportunity. We use a Welsh sandwich . Our photographs give some explanation of how we are becoming Ambitious and Capable in our Dosbarth Derbyn. We researched water and then we tried to make a waterfall. We found out about Italy and France in our Travel agents. We learnt about clowns and feelings in the circus. We found out so much about the Queen.
Ambitious and Capable Learners
We looked at the statements for the ambitious and capable learners, the children then talked about what they do in school that shows these characteristics. The children then created mind maps of all of they things they felt matched the statements.
Year 4 explored Mark, the evangelist for the Ambitious and Capable strand. They first identified the definitions for both Ambitious and Capable to understand what each term meant. They then worked in partners to identify vocabulary and examples of how they can be Ambitious and Capable in their learning. They then collaborated in groups to share and refine their ideas further. We then came together as a class to share and collate their ideas.
